Notes on project development
Here are my notes I have done in order to discover and develop my idea/ concept for current project. I am aware that these scans may not be really readable therefore, I will list all of the points from these papers underneath corresponding photograph.
Scan of my concept mind map for the project
Ideas:
- creating garments from scraps, recycling
- jewellery (colourful beads)
- extremely small or big clothes
- rawness of cuts and fabrics
- bold, strongly coloured paintings
- golden years of childhood
- simple cuts
- uncomfortable/ inconvenience
- enlarged prints on clothes to showcase their scale
- unbalanced proportions, shapes
- not exact
- How could clothing be seen from a primitive perspective?
- loosing what is established/ not existence of it [gender, sizing, etc.]
Title generation based on comments from blog and concept development from previous notes
Comments:
- Primitivism in the future (idea of future being already set for each individual)
- Dealing with problems by going back to basic sort of life (looking for what's most valuable)
- Embracing ways of living from the past (golden years of childhood)
- Rejection of the modern tech
- Communicating human experiences (how time changes ourselves)
- Time capsule idea as a purpose for existence for the project
Title ideas:
- Time Capsule
- Back to the future/ (or rather past)
- Time breakdown
- Bend of time
- Rehearsal of the golden years
- Time distortion
- Perception
- Time recursion
- Strain of time
- Deformity of time
- Cases alter circumstances
- Rehearsal of the future
Papers shown above are notes taken during process of developing my project concept. They represent my way of thinking, order and track I have went through. Titles in bolder and bigger font have been shown this way to present my favourite ideas for the title of my project. I will also explain each of them widely enough so that the idea behind them is clear and easy to understand and follow.
Rehearsal of the golden years corresponds to an idea of early years of our lives as ones being the most valuable and happy for us. This title captures the primitive, first years of ours as one of the most important parts and fundaments for my project concept.
Perception stands for the point of view shown in my project concept. It is related to the idea of the fact that the point of view (time) changes everything. There is also something very primitive in the fact that we cannot control this process (passing time) from happening, which leaves us helpless and powerless.
Time recursion describes the process of repeatable pattern that we are going through in time. Recursion is basically the idea of something being stuck in the middle of time, having past and seeing the future which not yet exists. It is a mathematical idea of repetitiveness which I could use to illustrate the same idea that was used to create title Perception.
Strain of time in the meaning of incline in time. The idea comes from the concept of time change which is a basis for the concept of my project. This mistake in time shown through adults wearing clothing as they are kids can be in my opinion describes by this title fairly well.
Cases alter circumstances
And here is my favourite one. A play on English saying "Circumstances alter cases". Even though it may look and sound funny and not in the right place, in my opinion it is a perfect choice for a title of this project. The idea behind it was born by thinking about how some kids are being categorised and taught to be somebody in the future by their parents and society in overall. Cases actually change the circumstances we end up in in the future. Small, firstly unimportant events may play a huge role in our future life. The idea of kids wearing clothing as they have been already categorised into certain shelves by the world is so strong and inspiring for me that it really makes me feel that this title is really good.
Moreover, the shuffle of the words in this saying from 1-2-3 to 3-2-1 is a perfect example of shuffle that is a basis for my project concept which is about kid-wearing clothes that are too big and look like-adult to adult-wearing clothes that are too big and look like-a kid. It may seem complicated but makes complete sense for me.
To sum up, through this exercise or rather development and thought about my concept, I have came to couple conclusions and ideas that will help me to develop my vision for my designs in the future. I have also come up with multiple choices for the title of the project which I may or may not use at the end, but that gave me more understanding and made me think more deeply about the core ideas behind my project. I am very happy with the results of this session/ work I have done and hope to use it later in my project.

Your process here is good, considering a large range of ideas - there is enough here to sustain you over several projects! On the other hand, how you are going to adapt these ideas to your subject matter is something you need to follow up on in later posts.
