Issey Miyake - class time designer research
Issey Miyake is one of three designer coming from Japan with a great influence on fashion industry globally. He was born in Japan in 1938. During the start of his career, he was working for the legend of 20th century fashion such as Guy Laroche and Huber de Givenchy. His work is known for the use of pleats, smart textile choices as well as their invention and great convenience and practicality. Tradition of Japan is very influential for Miyake. He respects it a lot but at the same looks to the future and seeks the invention. One of the great traditional elements be looks up to is Japanese kimono. Designer admires not the cut of the garment from the outside, but feels heavily inspired by the negative space present and essential for building the silhouette of it. Issey believes that clothing should have purpose and present a solution for the problem.
